Hitchcock and Penguins on the moon

6 am this morning, the alarm goes off, time to wake up again in Peru. Of course there were already cars blowing their hornes outside in the streets and the little village of Pisco was awakening slowly.

After a sober but very good breakfast in the pittoresk courtyard of our hostel, we were ready to go on a full day excursion to les Islas Ballestas and the nationial park of Paracas.

Islas Ballestas was super beautifull, but I almost felt like being in the famous Hitchcock movie 'The Birds'. Hundreds of them were flying around and taking up spacs between the rocky edges of the Island.

Those of you who thought that penguins only live in the antartic region, you're wrong... there's a specific species that lives here on the Balestas Islands, together with sealions and many other animals. I will try to post some pictures ASAP.

After the boattrip it was time for the national parc of Paracas. I for one always thought that parks were suppose to be green... with trees and bushes bading in the sun and little streams of clear water. Well this time I was wrong, Paracas national parc is kinda like a desert, with an almost moonlike landscape. Super beatufull and almost surreal since it's at the border with the Pacific ocean. Again many different birds live there and appareantly there is a tremendous amount off underwater sealife going on there (the only thing we saw were tons of ginormous jellyfish though.

In the afternoon the sun came to join us for the first time on our trip and it made everything even more beautifull then before.... clear bleu pacific water and an endless mass of sand... definetly something I will remember for al long long time.

We also tried the national dish of Peru called 'ceviche' which is basicly raw fish with some spices and lemonjuice squeezed over it. Not my favourite dish (I preferred the Lomo of yesterday) but very eatible indeed...

For now, I need a shower and a good nights rest....
