18 Juli 2012 | Peru, Lima
Although I'm usually a big sleeper on busses, this time I didn't sleep for a second. As soon as we left the busy streets and the suburbs of Lima, Peru treated us with a wide variety of mountains. Stony mountains, bushy mountains, desert mountains, occasionaly house mountains...
While cruising over the panamerican highway we enjoyed the landscapes and occasionaly we could see the ocean. One sad thing though, since it's winter here, the sky is like a milky blanket hanging over us... I can imagine that these things would even look better whith some sunshine.
After a 5 hour drive the bus dropped us at the crossing of the panamerican highway and the road to Pisco, and there it was, a miracle happened.
When we got out of the bus, there was a woman waiting for us, with Nathalies name written on a paper... we have absolutely no clue where she came from, or how the she knew that we would be there at that hour, but she had arranged a taxi for us directly to our hostel (how did she know in which hostel we were staying???)...
Anyways Peruvian people and hospitality keeps on suprising me in a good way. Pisco is a nice little city, with a beautifull old municipalidad, dating from somewhere in de 900's we think.
Tonight we also had our first hot Peruvian diner in a local restaurant, delicious rice, some really spicy yellowish sauce, and baked potatoes, pork, red onions and tomatoes... really delicious.
That's all for now folks, I'm going to sleep and get ready for whatever tomorrow brings me!!!
Take care, and eat your veggies!!
